According to a newly released report, after unveiling the Black Shark 5 series in China a couple of months ago, the brand is finally planning to launch the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro models included in this series in the Malaysian market. The new devices will be officially launched in Malaysia on June 8 (Wednesday).

The Black Shark 5 series is coming to the Malaysian market next month

The company has confirmed that the launch event of the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro handsets will be held in Malaysia on June 8 at 7 pm (Indian time 4:30 pm). Black Shark is expected to announce the price and pre-order promotion of the series on the same day. The launch event will be officially streamed live on Black Shark Malaysia's official Facebook page and TikTok channel.

Black Shark 5 Series Specifications

Launched in China last March, both the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro models have a 6.8-inch Full HD + (2,400 x 1,060 pixels) Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a variable refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. These displays offer 100% coverage of 1300 net peak brightness, DC dimming, HDR 10+ and P3 colour gamut. The devices have a 720 touch sampling rate and a dual-zone pressure-sensitive screen, which can enhance the user's mobile gaming experience.

In terms of performance, the Black Shark 5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It has up to 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB UFS 3.1 + SSD storage. This combination of UFS + SSD storage is called Disk Array 2.0 technology, and the 5 Pro's 'read and write speeds have been increased by 55% and 69%, respectively. On the other hand, the Black Shark 5 model uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which is available with up to 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage.

For power backup, both gaming devices are powered by a 4,650 mAh battery with 120-watt fast charging technology support, and the company claims that the phones are fully charged in just 15 minutes. Finally, the handsets run on Android 12 based JoyUI 13 custom skin.
